It is primarily a project development company, aiming at identifying possibilities for solar energy application in a rural setting in developing countries. Its services extend from developing project ideas into concrete project plans, assistance in finding financing through donors and financiers and co-financing by GiraMundo when appropriate, project implementation, technical assistance (TA) and management assistance (MA) and back-up services for ongoing projects. GiraMundo also has a crucial role for the group in providing information on needs in the rural electrification market, concerning concept and product development, and enabling better application of solar energy systems. DutchSolar manufactures the GiraSolar brand of photovoltaic solar modules (GS125, GS135, GS145, GS155) and the GiraSolar DPE range of electronic devices, ranging from regulators for PV systems to heavy duty automatic voltage stabilizers, batteries and battery chargers for application in developing countries and disaster or crisis areas (emergency relief applications).
